Tell college and that shitty job to fuck off .

A degree won’t get you a job you love. But I will.

I did, and look how it paid off.

I went from college dropout waitress to top 1% of Millennials in 6 months. Now, I want to help you do the same.

twitter-waitress

I’m a twentysomething, who not too long ago, was waiting tables 40+ hours per week in my hometown. I had just dropped out of college because I couldn’t support myself and was forced to move in with my dad. Talk about a shitty situation.

Flash forward six months.

In this short amount of time (that felt like dragged on forever) I negotiated a $72,000 salaried marketing director position and $3,000 in relocation assistance, which moved me to Boston, the land of opportunities.

Since then, I’ve gone out on my own, and today, I’m in the top one percent of millennials.

A college degree does not guarantee you a good job.

Enter Full Stack Marketer.

Three projects. Your timeline. Unlimited opportunities.

There really isn’t anything difficult about gaining experience when you think different. In this 3-part, self-paced course, I present to you my tried and proven universal framework for gaining experience, landing jobs and getting paid.

1d

FIRST:

You’ll pick one project to work on that will add a quality piece to your portfolio. Then you’ll get just one more project that will expand your skill set.

2d

NEXT:

You’ll customize solutions’ packages based on my documented procedures found in this course. You’ll start charging clients for your services immediately upon completion of Step One.

3d

LAST:

Finally, you’ll design your digital footprint (your online portfolio), and then you’ll start twerking the job hunt, i.e. marketing yourself.

Build your skills. Gain real-world experience.

Project 1: Build a WordPress website.

“It’s cheap. It’s easy to do. And it can take less than 20 minutes to set up. Yet more than half of all small businesses still don’t have a website.”
— Inc

As of February 2016, WordPress was used by 59.1 percent of all the websites whose CMS we know. This is 25.8 percent of all websites. And as of January 2015, more than 23.3 percent of the top 10 million websites on the Internet, such as Mashable and New York Times, used WordPress.

Because everyone uses it, and because you’re interested in marketing, it’s safe to say you’re going to work with a client – sooner rather than later – whose site is built on WordPress. And it’s likely that this person is going to want you to know how to use it.

This is why we’ll build a website on WordPress. Because what better way to learn how to use it then to build a simple WordPress site yourself?

Upon completion, you’ll have the following skills:

  • WordPress
  • SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • Writing
  • Google Analytics

Develop more skills. Create more product offerings.

Project 2: Develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy.

Thanks to you, your client has a beautiful website. What do they need next? Well, a comprehensive digital marketing strategy of course.

Learning how to market a website will give you a diverse and in-demand skill set.

Forty-five percent of companies plan to hire content marketers in the next year. Of that percentage, 78 percent of these companies are looking to hire at least one to three people for content positions, according to Kapost’s How to Get a Job in Content Marketing survey. In short, businesses are hiring more for content than for social media and design combined.

While content marketers are in high demand, there is a shortage of qualified candidates for open positions, according to a study, carried out on behalf of SkilledUp by Provoke Insights.

The same study discovered that 34 percent of company’s marketers say they either have a hard time hiring content marketers, and 42 percent say they do not have the skillset to properly execute a content marketing strategy.

This is why we’ll learn the in’s and out’s of content marketing, which is my true north.

Upon completion, you’ll have developed the following portfolio pieces:

  • a blog strategy, including an editorial calendar
  • a social media strategy
  • a SEO strategy
  • an email marketing strategy

Showcase your newly proven skills.

Project 3: Build your own portfolio website.

FACT: 56 percent of all hiring managers are more impressed by a candidate’s personal website than any other personal branding tool — however, only 7 percent of job seekers actually have a personal website.

Now, you’re ready to create your own personal portfolio website, which I promise you, if done right, will land you more jobs than you know what to do with.

Upon completion of this project, you’ll finally be in control of your destiny, and like anyone with valuable experience you’ll have options.

Option 1: You can apply (and land) a full-time job.

Option 2: You can keep freelancing:

  • On a project-by-project basis
  • By keeping a few clients on retainers OR
  • By working part-time for two companies.

Network with smart people across the globe

Questions?

Who’s this for?

Do you need a flexible way to earn and learn? Do you need identity capital? Are you lost professionally? Then this course is for you.

Full Stack Marketer is a course for busy people, who are hard-working, self-motivated and resilient.

You need to be willing and ready to hear candid feedback without getting discouraged. It also helps if you’re hungry.

Basically, you’ll learn everything except how to code in this course.

Who isn’t this for?

This class isn’t for you if you’re just looking for a get-rich-quick scheme. If you don’t want to work hard. If you don’t enjoy doing “deep work.”

If you’re entitled or don’t want to contribute anything to the world. It’s not for lazy people or wannabe developers or data scientists.

This course is not for you if you can’t handle candid feedback.

Word on the street is…

“I started my now junior year here at UCF, and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted to write and work in journalism, but I didn’t know what kind of writing I wanted to do.

I hadn’t really found my niche. And then I just so happened to come across one of Lauren’s posts in our Society of Professional Journalists’ page.

Talking to Lauren and getting to know her professionally is probably the best thing that happened to me so far in my pre-career.

Knowing her has provided me with so many opportunities. She hooked me up with a web startup, writing content for them.

And I got to go to INBOUND 2014 in Boston – something none of my peers would have been able to do. She’s got me writing content for all sorts of different startup sites – making money that none of my peers are making.

They’re all constantly asking me: How are you not busing tables? How are you not out here working at Denny’s at 2 a.m., trying to get through school?

And it’s because I have the opportunity to be able to freelance – something that almost none of my peers are able to support themselves doing right now.

I’m a huge advocate for Lauren’s services. I think that her approach to working with Millennials is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.

I can’t even explain how influential she’s been in my career so far and how many opportunities she’s provided me, in this entire world she opened up to me that I didn’t even know existed.”

Who am I?

My Story

laurenholliday-300x300

Hola! I’m Lauren Holliday. Four years ago, I dropped out of school and cut the education section from my resume.

Six months later, I was able to negotiate a $72,000 salaried marketing director position and $3,000 in relocation assistance, which moved me to Boston, the land of opportunities. And today, I’m the top 1 percent of Millennials.

(Before that, I landed 15 job interviews in 30 minutes)

I cried for days after dropping out. It was extremely scary at the time, but looking back, it’s one of the best things that ever happened to me.

Dropping out freed me up to do actual work – work that impressed clients and then hiring managers enough to give me paid job after paid job after paid job.

”Executives speak Excel (results), everyone else speaks Word.”
- John Barrows

It’s wildly difficult to connect the dots looking forward. I know how scary it is to be lost and hopeless when it comes to figuring out what you want to do with your life.

I’ve been very fortunate to have a great deal of brilliant people help me connect the dots looking forward, and it has made all the difference in my career.

I’m going to help you connect the dots looking forward so you can relish in the success you deserve and make the contribution you are worthy of providing the world.

More words about Lauren…

  • Thanks for this course, Lauren. I'd been looking for a course that just releases a plethora of knowledge about WordPress. Some others were too confusing or didn't teach me much.
